Who We Are

Our History

Morecom’s history can be traced back to the early 1970s with the establishment of a general trading business in the Netherlands focused on developing links with West Africa.

Initially focused on supplying various technical, educational, and scientific equipment mainly to Ghana, the company grew quickly and expanded into Nigeria, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.

In the early 1980s the business diversified into developing infrastructure projects through the implementation of the Owerri Capital project in Imo State, Nigeria.

At the same time the company represented several international companies such as Heineken and Stork. From the late 1980s to the late 1990s, the company was at the forefront of bringing the latest information technology products to West Africa and represented companies such as Apple Computers, IBM, and Microsoft.

During this period, the business also expanded its activities in the healthcare sector and diversified further afield by establishing operations in the Middle East.

Since the mid-1990s, the company has successfully helped implement numerous projects in the healthcare, agriculture, power, water, and environmental sectors, having played a key role in projects amounting to c. €1billion largely funded through official development assistance in the form of grants and/or concessional loans.

Today Morecom’s core focus remains the implementation of projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. Through its extensive experience and access to a wide network of financiers, contractors, and engineering consultants, developed over the years, it continues to be well placed to assist public and private sector clients in developing projects of various sizes across sectors.
