Healthcare Projects

Overview

Our Projects

Health care in Sub-Saharan Africa remains the worst globally with most countries unable to meet the minimum spend per capita the World Health Organization (WHO) has set for basic health care.

Morecom has been involved in the health sector in Africa since the 1990s. It has implemented a number of projects for both public and private sector clients.

Rehabilitation of 5 District Hospitals, Ghana

The project provided critical support to the Government’s programme of strengthening primary health care and was in line with the priorities for health services rehabilitation in Ghana. The project involved the rehabilitation of five district hospitals across the country including civil works, supply and installation of new medical and laboratory equipment and training. Morecom arranged the first state-to-state loan (Belgian Government to Ghana) to fund the project.

Medical Imaging, Nigeria and Ghana

Morecom supplied and installed medical imaging equipment for the National Maritime Clinic in Nigeria and provided training and after-sales service to ensure the equipment functioned properly and medical staff were able to utilise it effectively for the care of patients.

Morecom also structured and arranged the funding to launch the first full-service private sector imaging centre in Ghana on a turnkey basis. Modalities included MRI, CT, Mammography, Xray, Ultrasound, Bone densitometry and ECG. The facility was equipped with a fully redundant power supply including generators, UPSs and voltage stabilizers to provide a stable and reliable power supply to the equipment thereby maximizing uptime and continued patient care.
